The city grows...I'm not sure when it'll ever be finished, to be honest! But I'm enjoying it, so I suppose that's what matters most.
Today we're going to have a peek at a neighborhood in zone 3, known by most as the South Basin. The South Basin isn't posh by any means, but it isn't nearly so decrepit as the Rampart, either. It's always attracted a lot of young people and artists, most of whom are at least a little bit starving.

The houses in the South Basin are old shotgun houses (link because I know that not everyone on my list is from the U.S.)

These are the Trotter sisters, who are orphans. They're probably discussing the house next door...

It's been boarded up for a while. In fact, they've never even seen their neighbors, but they know that they're in there because they see lights from inside, once and a while.

The other Trotter sister.

It isn't much, but they've tried to make it as homey as possible.

Maybe it could be a little bit cleaner, though.

The Trotter girls live next-door to the cutest house on the block.

The tenant is an artist, but she doesn't know what kind yet. She's imitating all the masters first, from Neo-Classical to Velvet Elvis, hoping that she'll eventually discover a style that calls to her.

Her house is very small, but entirely playable. Pictures were a challenge, though!

And here's the mystery artist herself, Brigitte by
niloublue.

The man at the end of the block is a sculptor.

Actually, he's an electrician, but he'd rather be sculpting.

He's rather sculpted himsef, ahem. It's Armand by
bunheadsbuns.

<3 dusk shots.

Having a convenience store around the corner is...convenient.

It doesn't have much in the way of healthy food, but who can afford that, anyway?

I hope you plan to pay for that, young lady, because the worker has his eye on you.

Yeah.

Wiglaf, by
needlecream. His job bores him, but he knows he's lucky to have one.

Nighttime.
I'm still looking for more
pixel_trade sims to stick in the hood, so if you haven't suggested any of yours to me yet, feel free!
Right now I'm working on a cathedral. It's....well, hard.
