I am happily relieved to report that my macbook DID survive the spillage...no damage at all, actually, though when they opened up the case they discovered a cable that was about to break, so I did get that replaced, which is good. Apparently my battery will probably not last much longer, either. :( I can't afford to replace it right now so hopefully it hangs in there for a while yet.
The truth of the matter is, macbooks are NOT meant for gaming, and even with a Power Mac, the Aspyr version of the Sims games are crap (not to mention incomplete - still no Freetime or Apartment Life! And hardly any stuffpacks!). Playing the games via bootcamp is a better idea, but even so, see point number one: macbooks are not meant for gaming, bookcamp or no. I'm still going to try to play my Sims game on this current computer, but I think that once my novel is finished and once I have the money, I am going to recruit my boyfriend to help me build a PC desktop that can handle both Sims 2 and Sims 3 with ease. I would love a Power Mac but they are so much money! I can build a kickass PC for a lot less cash. And then I will upgrade the battery and memory on this macbook and still use it for laptopping, but retire it for gaming purposes.
So yes, that's the plan. Who knows when I will have the money to execute it, haha.
