Touring the city of New Bayou: The Rampart

I'm still on a building/decorating spree with no end in sight, so what is there to do put post another pic spam!
The city of New Bayou has been divided up into different zones (for reasons that shall be revealed later, mwah), and these pics are of a neighborhood in zone 2 called the Rampart. The Rampart is a tough place to live. I'll say no more than that...except perhaps a thank you to
psychosim, whose awesome buildings and hood deco helped to make the Rampart possible.

This is where the Slater family lives.

People in the Rampart spend a lot of time outside, since their homes aren't much to look at.

Rain again...

The Brothers.

... The Rampart is not supposed to be this much fun, guys.

That's better - moody and atmospheric.
For some faces you might recognize, let's take a look at Waterside Park. There's a lot of debate in the Rampart over what happened to the park. Did it go bankrupt and shut down, or was it never finished? Whatever happened, the rides were never taken down, and the park still stands as a good place for shiftless, down-on-their-luck folks to gather.

Yes, I'm obsessed with taking pictures at dusk. Why?

I have dreams about creepy amusement parks sometimes... I think they look like this. :/

Linden (also by
simtopi) has priorities: keeping warm.

You don't want to knowwho what he's burning, and neither does he.

For all its squalor, some people find that there's something strangely peaceful about the place.
So that was the Rampart! I hope you enjoyed. I made the Slater family myself, and will have created other families to populate New Bayou, but I thought it would also be fun if the townies were
pixel_trade sims, so that when I start writing the main story the extras and minor characters can all be pulled from a townie pool of PT sims (rather like
bunheadbuns does for her Pixel Peak story. So if you are a member of
pixel_trade and want to suggest one of your sims to me as a resident of New Bayou, please go for it! I need plenty of street people, strippers, hustlers, etc., of both genders and all races (including supernatural). Sims with Relatively non-cartoony features would probably work best, considering the look of the city. Otherwise, I'll just raid the PT community for Sims that I think would fit in.
Oh, I still don't have Photoshop, but I probably will get it, thanks to everyone's encouragement. :)

Date: 2011-01-07 07:41 pm (UTC)I do use a lighting mod, this one by spookymuffin. I also put a atmospheric projector in every lot. I think these two things compliment each other very well when used together.
