UGH, I think my Group Hug Group Home game is already borked! Either that or the lot itself is. Here's what happened:
Everything was going along swimmingly until Justice gave birth to her baby. After that, everyone acted as if they had no free will. They would stand around and yell about how they were tired/stinky/hungry, etc., but they didn't DO anything about it. They were perfectly able to perform functions if I asked them to, but left to their own devices they did nothing. Free Will was in the ON position.
So I got out the lot debugger (I don't think I've ever successfully used it to debug anything, but maybe I don't really understand how it works) and forced errors on both in-world and off-world. This changed nothing.
I can't help but think that it's the addition of the baby that's buggering things up. It's now a 10 person household, and while I have the hack that lets you have more than 8 sims, I haven't really tested it in-game extensively up until this point. I researched a bit to find out what other people have done about this problem and it seems like they all end up moving the family out and then moving them back in. WAH, I don't wanna do that...all that decorating, down the drain! Plus I'm worried that one of the 10 sims will, like, disappear somehow. Like the baby, for example. Travesty!
One thing I have not yet tried is removing some of my hacks and seeing what happens. I guess that's the next step.
Anyone else had this happen before? How did you fix it?

Date: 2010-08-21 10:11 pm (UTC)Really does sound like you need to try moving them in and out.
Did you look under Fix on the bat box? Forcing errors is not necessarily the only thing that you can do to try to debug a lot. Also, try taking out InTeen if you have it. It seems to be the cause of random lack of free will for a lot of people.
Edited because I can't spell.
